Show Don't Tell

The barking and whining of that little cute thing wakes me up in the mornings. Licking me, eating food, drinking and sleeping is all this young pet does 24/7. Creaking the floor boards with all four paws, then running outside to find his hard crunchy treat. The tap is running but I don't know why. It turns out that my little wonder in life wants to have a bath. I hope that he doesn't flood the house. By Brianne!!!

The Japan Earthquake!!!

I feel terrible about what has happened recently in Japan. The 8.9 might of actually been a 9.1. First they had a 7.3 earthquake and a minor tsunami that was not a threat. After that there was a 8.9 earthquake which lead to a tsunami that was a threat. They had an aftershock with a magnitude of 6.3 on the richter scale!!! I feel so sorry for the people in Japan and the people that have lost their homes!!! By Brianne!!!

Brianne's Rescue Teams Story!!!

I have been working to try and help as many people as posible, ever since the quake on the 22nd of February. Luckily none of my family and friends were involved in the quake. Although I am completely sick and tired of the quakes I need to stay and help the people of Christchurch. It is so sad that the Cathedral has been destroyed along with heaps of other buildings. There have been heaps of people that have been rescued by my rescue team and they all have thanked us allot. Heaps of people have died and fewer have been found alive. The worst building that has collapsed is the CTV building and most of the people we have found have come out of there. By Brianne!!!

The Syndicate Trip

On Thursday, I woke up and felt so happy that my syndicate was going on a trip. I got out of my bed, got my mufti clothes on, washed my face , brushed my teeth and caught the bus. I got to school at about 8.15 and I found my friends talking with each other so I joined in. They were talking about the trip and what they were wearing for the beach, then the bell rang and we sprinted to our rooms. The teacher was talking about what people should have brung to school. It was sad because our syndicate was meant to wear mufti but instead the whole school was, so that was not so fair. We finally walked down to the train station, and got on to the train, a few minutes later we got off the train and walked down to the beach as we got to the beach it started getting a little cold but luckily we found a nice huge patch of grass to put our bags and there were toilets there too so that was good. After everyone got into their togs people started sprinting into the water, after a while everyone was having fun but then crabs were started to appear in the water and started pinching people. The boys from room 8 started playing cricket so I joined in, I got heaps of people out but somehow I never got a bat then we started having sand fights and me and Nathan made huge sand balls to throw at people. There was a skim board there so I showed everyone how to work it. Suddenly, we had to go but it was really really fun. As we got onto the train everyone was talking loudly then out of nowhere a guy on the phone screamed " SHUT UP" luckily me and Nathan got off at Porirua station and I had to walk home because I had no money on my bus card. It was really fun and I hope that we can do it again sometime. By Brandon

Reuben's Story!

The carriage shook to the blind corner of the rail, then the view of the sparkling water and boat wakes arrived. The train station was in view then we came to a halt. Metal doors slid poen and classes dispersed to a short meeting on the rubble. It wasn't long before we were walking through the gates and down the stairs. It was Thursday the 24th of February and it was Tui Syndicate's turn for a trip, we were all wearing mufti and had our water guns and boogie board's ready for Plimmerton beach. The purpose of the trip was to meet new people and learn more about each other. Walking down the steps the agapanthas brushed your clothes and revealed the glistling sea. It was a perfect view. Before we even touched the sand we needed to coat ourselves in sunblock to keep us safe from the cruel sun. People got changed and ran into the sea. The games we played were cricket, sand fights, cold water fights and frisbee. Tui built structures out of sand, water and wood. That day was fun and worthwhile! By Reuben
